AcademyWomen was founded in 2003 as a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the professional and personal growth of women from the nation’s premier military academies and officer development programs. We are an organization created by and for academy women as a ready source of support, mentorship, personal and professional development.
AcademyWomen is aligned for the greater good of the academies and the military. It is our belief that every woman who chooses to serve her country should be fully prepared to do so. AcademyWomen stands behind this belief by providing supplemental sources of education, leadership development opportunities, and resources. AcademyWomen also serves as an advocate for military women and women in non-traditional career fields.
We offer programs to support and enable our members such as: cross-service e-mentorship for all academy women, an annual symposium, regional events to strengthen dialogue between our members, and public policy research focusing on the professional development of women in the military. In addition, we will provide insight, research and advocacy on policy issues relating to women veterans.
We are a global leadership organization of current and former military officers, cadets, midshipmen, candidates and all individuals committed to the success of AcademyWomen’s mission. Our members are the world’s outstanding leaders, including: military officers, astronauts, pilots, combat leaders, ship commanding officers, business executives, diplomats, civic leaders, and entrepreneurs. Academy women are the pioneers who bravely sought military training and now represent a new and outstanding paradigm of leadership.
